The Project

5030 Wellesly is a bright, modern luxury basement remodel that leans into bold color and natural materials for a result that feels fresh and livable. Where many luxury basements trend toward dark and dramatic, this project shows how a basement can feel light, airy, and deeply connected to the outdoors — while still delivering the high-end finishes New Edge Renovation is known for.

Teal Built-In Entertainment Wall

The centerpiece of the main living area is a full custom built-in wall finished in a deep teal/dark slate paint, with live-edge floating wood shelves lit from below by warm LED strip lighting. A flat-screen TV is centered on the wall with a sleek linear electric fireplace below it, flanked by open display niches on both sides. The gold-brass Sputnik chandelier overhead adds a mid-century modern counterpoint to the organic live-edge shelves.

Walkout & Natural Light

A full-width sliding glass door opens directly to the backyard, flooding the basement with natural light and eliminating the feeling of being underground. The hardwood floors, soft neutral sofa, and warmly toned area rug complete a space that functions year-round as the main gathering room of the home. The adjacent full bathroom features a floor-to-ceiling dark tile walk-in shower for a cohesive luxury finish throughout the level.
